Air suspension

Just been speaking to Rayvern Hydraulics about air suspension (unrelated to my Supra btw) and he makes a very convincing argument for air ride. Has anyone on here got it on their Supra?

I know its going to get slated but I was thinking of doing this eventually. I like really low look and then the idea of being able to raise it to get up drives and over bumps - the other good point is that you can adjust the ride stiffness and quality.

A lot of Luxury 4x4's have it now but not sure about sports cars. There is a nice car opposite my work that has air bags/hydraulics and it is dropped to the floor at the moment and has the wheels tucked right into the arches - shame its a punto

There are a lot of cheap systems out there, but you can obviously keep the car at a normalish height for the majority of the time in total safety - and as you say you can control the bump and rebound and can even add isolator valves to stop air dispersal if you're planning on track use/ hard cornering. The system takes up very little room and runs off the normal battery. I can't actually find fault in it apart from the cost!

Ive often wondered about going down this route myself just the price puts me off, plus i dont know who is a reputable manufacturer and how much it would affect the handling?

Would cost about 2k fitted - have a look at Rayvern Hydraulics website - they're pretty much the most respected name in the UK. VW guys are really into it at the moment and have spoken to a few guys with decent power (300bhp+) Golfs who still enjoy driving hard with the air suspension.
