Hi Folks

I know quite a few people took an interest in Harewood Hillclimb Nr . Leeds last year , so thought id make everyone aware of the 2008 dates.

Practice Day:
30th March (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=568&day=2008-3-30&c=1)

Competitive Dates:

April 13 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=569&day=2008-4-13)

May 10 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=570&day=2008-5-10)

May 11 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=571&day=2008-5-11)

June 7 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=572&day=2008-6-7)

June 8 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=573&day=2008-6-8)

July 5 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=574&day=2008-7-5)

July 6 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=575&day=2008-7-6)

August 3 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=576&day=2008-8-3)

August 24 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=577&day=2008-8-24)

September 20 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=578&day=2008-9-20)

September 21 (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=579&day=2008-9-21)

Hopefully we can arrange a few club meets for some of the dates. I can arrange with the organisers if we wish to have group bookings ( Unless Michael wants that Job again?!)

For those of you who are are interested in actually competing you will need the following.

MSA NON RACE NATIONAL B LICENCE £36
BARC Basic Club Membership £33.00
BARC Centre Membership, Costs an additional £15.00 per Centre ( Yorkshire centre required)

Event cost is usually about £90 i think.

Most of you guys would be looking at Class 3 – Road modified saloon & sports cars over 2000 cc if you wanted to enter the supra. The class requires the car to be road legal - detailed regs im told are to be released shortly. Looking like it will be a very competitive class this year.

If anyone wants any more advice let me know , iv been involved in Harewood since i was about 6 so hopefully should be able to shed some light for you.

Thanks
Gord

Ill be at most rounds so hopefully we can arrange something as a club - its a nice venue with a real mix of cars.

More and more japanese motors featuring in the Road going classes as well which is always good.

I'll be going along to more of these this year. Weather permitting.

A great day out especially as you can get so close to the action.

Went to a couple last year, I really enjoyed it. You get close to the action and there always seems to be some interesting cars there. Will certainly end up going to some this year :)

It is... when it's sunny anyway, not sure what March/April will be like :D

You thinking of taking a trip up?

RedM

It's very lovely there. If you can get in early and park in that little car park you can sit and watch the racing from the edge of the hill and with your car inches away.

:( oh no matey, what happened :(

Gord R
17-03-08, 23:41
Not quite sure yet.

Did it good and proper though. Bent every rod, no1 rod was so badly bent it ripped the Gudgen pin out of the piston. And proceeded to put a big hole in the block.

Considering getting another car bought to put me on, really wanted to be there on practice day to learn the hill :(

Im running tommorow.

Although its a non spectator day , if any one wants to pop over , tell them on the gate you are with Gordon Riley Car 749 (VW GOLF)

Michael - Some amazing news! The farmhouse is to Let! Oh how tempting!

Well Practice day was really enjoyable , highly recommend harewood to anyone thinking of having a go. I ended up doing a shared drive with my dad in my Golf tdi and still had a great laugh.

Seriously?

Any idea which agent is letting it?

Gord R

Aye Seriously. Presume its harewood farmhouse , the to let board is at the entrance.

Will have to check which agent it is with the old boy he was paying more attention than me.

Went to this today. Was a nice day. Very sunny and I spent the morning watching the practice from the edge of the hillside car-park, occasionally falling asleep in the sun.

Met up with Mr and Mrs Thorin, admired the Caterhams and took about 112 pictures.

Hello, was good to meet you and catch up today... Very nice day wasn't it, and as predicted the back of my neck is quite sunburnt now. :(

After we last saw you we had a wander up to the toilets and back to the car for a bit to change camera batteries and then want and sat back on the hill top by your car for a while but didn't see you. Had a bit of a wander round the paddock then left about 15:45 I think.

I took just over 100 photos too I think, half rubbish but I'll upload some in a bit.
