ok, this has bugged me for a while, most TT's that are near me keep the re-circ valve on their turbos and dont change it to an atmospheric one.. When I brought my tt it had an atmospheric on it.. it sounds AWESOME  but I wondered why others done have it too..

what do you guys use?

I have a HKS jobber its bloody noisey and spoils the stereo to be honest, maybe i'm getting too old, apparentley you can get a re-circ kit for it so it doesn't make all the silly noises

noooo those are lovely noises, I just know that some MR2 Turbo owners dont use em cause they use alot more fuel?

Why they HAVE done it? Must be because it sounds "AWESOME" dude!

Unless you meant that you wondered why they haven't done it? In which case it's probably because they know that it does nothing at all for the performance of the car and tends to make the driver look like an attention seeking chav.

chavs cant afford supras

That's the thing about being a chav; nobody thinks they are one.

Here's a simple test:

A. Are you happy to pay good money for something that makes your car go WHOOSH and impresses teenage boys but actually does nothing to improve the performance/power/handling/reliability/anything?

Congratulations. You're definitely a chav, you just haven't realised it yet.

Good test.

I am distinctly upper class though, so my butler tells me :D

Oh No.... here I am, a mature (OK.. old) guy, Yorkshireman to boot, got a family and happily being a newish grandad when suddenly, out of nowhere I'm a chav

Now I've seen them on the telly (never in person you understand) and I honestly can say that I've never worn a shell suit or a burberry baseball cap.

I own no jewellery at all (unless you count my silver testicle clamps) and have never ventured into that Essex place.

I did once own a loud XR2i but that was many years ago when they were the new "hot hatch" and the thing to be seen in.

How did this happen ?

Surely it can't be that I just like the pshhhhhhh sound of an HKS SSQV !

Perhaps the rumour is right and I'm entering my second childhood shortly before succumbing to senile dementia

:taped::blink::taped:

I have one too!! shame on me! and I have a baseball cap!!

where o where did it all go wrong.

Lol at Jake..

my dump valve is quite quiet but it's still embarrasing, thinking of shoving a duck caller in the end just to disguise it. I'd rather be a birdwatcher than a chav any day :)

Just out of interest which BOV are people using?

I have a Greddy type-R which is atmospheric but is pretty quiet, My friend uses a HKS ssqv which is atmospheric and is pretty noisy.

The HKS SSQV is the most popular kit I sell.

I personally use the HKS Racing Type II.

I fitted an HKS one as I junked everything exhaust side to fit a big turbo :p Didn't want the extra plumbing hassle of recirculating it, I've got a MAP based metering system, so there - bona fide excuses, I win.

Although I did buy the purple fin insert to make it look shinier and produce a different noise
