Any expiriences with that? I mean the one that replaces the stock filter and still keeping the stock airbox. Any changes in sound, speeder response or anything? Is it worth the tripple cost compared to the OEM one?

I know it lasts way longer but anything except that?

I have the K&N - filtration is supposed to be slightly worse that standard but the back of my airbox is as clean as it was when I had the OEM one in there. No gritty deposits, no mass of filter oil on there etc.

It makes the standard recirc valve slightly noisier apparently and increaes induction noise a little bit - can't say I noticed either much but then I have a UK with the slightly beefed up insulation, noisy exhaust, stereo etc and rarely open the windows.

I bought mine because I can clean it when I want and pop it back in again, it represents a saving over the long run, if you want a performance increase or more noise you need to follow another path IMO.

I have the K&N panel filter too.

As Michael said, no grit or oily deposits in the airbox, slight increase in induction noise and no replacement charges. :)

As for performance, I've got a brand new stock filter here too so ran my local test route with each fitted.

Going by the bum dyno, I'd say the K&N has got the slight edge, but it's very close. So close it could even just be an impression given by the extra noise.
