View Full Version : For Sale Rs*r Catback Exhaust
Hi all ! right just testing the water with this one, might need some oppinions if any good or not. :search:
I have a RS*R catback exhaust on my 94 n/a, which the baffles have gone, had it checked out' no other damage or holes, had a look at state of exhaust seems pretty good, slight corrosion around weld near back box, but no holes ! Driving with it on up to 70mph seems meaty, but over that on motorways it drones thro the car a bit. someone mentioned you can pull out the baffles on these, but i had a look and cant see how ! so i'm putting up for sale ,as i've another exhaust on order, too loud for me. any suggestions welcome if it's f*****d or not so i can get rid of ! If someone needs, i'll have to price courier to deliver aswell ! :search: :search:
Interested
Can you send me pics
Check my garage out for back box, 3" pipework with 4" tailpipe, soon as my new one arrives, i'll take off and perhaps get some pics ! ;)
cool I had an RS*R on my SZ and loved it should have swapped the 2 exhausts over
checked pics all look good, may I have "fist dibs" for when it comes off your car
What do you mean the baffles have "gone" ? Removed ?
The bloke in the garage said your baffles have broken in your back box, cant see any damage down the bore, so i don't know if it's f****d or not, just know it's LOUD !! :search:
There are no baffles in an RS*R. If you shine a torch down it it is a straight through exhaust.
Well there is one baffle (I think thats what it is called) and that is the removable one.
And if it is what I am on about you are selling this about £120 too cheap, £200 for it at least.
Until i get it off the car, i'll give it a good look over and see wot's happening !! ;) Cos i'm working early in morns and getting home late at nights, i can't have a good look at it until weds ! :(
Just shine a torch down it, you can do that now. You should see no baffles and there should be a metal sheet all the way down the back box with little holes in it.
Takes a few seconds to check that mate. ;)
I shall go and av a look now mate !
As said above - WAY TOO CHEAP!
Right had a look with the torch, shone down bore of exhaust, seen about 10" of holey metal in backbox which is all in tact, slightly rusty colour tho, so how of all of a sudden the noise of the exhaust so much louder and drones over 70mph, something must have gone ! :search:

Is it blowing anywhere?
Did it have the baffles in before?
no , nowhere ! bloke had it on ramps, give it a good looking at. i'll wait until i get new one on weds hopefully, and check it out ! thanks for the advice all, and be in touch !! and as for baffles being in , i don't know, can't see them coming out cos the angle of the exhaust to the car ! (as you can tell i'm not the most mechanically minded person on here )
Just out of curiosity, can you buy a baffle to fit this exhaust and who off ? :search:
Baffle is a term used for the perferated sheet of metal inside the exhaust, they act as an acoustic filter and take a lot of the "boomy" sound out, the car should be very loud depending on how f***ed the baffles are.
I do not think they are made anymore, try Envy as they have made a copy of this exhaust so the baffle for that surely will fit the RS*R
