Interior light - big problems

Things doing my head in:taped:changed the unit, cnaged the bulbs, fuse hasnt gone as all the bits that use the same fuse work, planned to strip the interior out to remove the headlining to get to the wiring, but before i do, any suggestions:)

bit basic but have you used a multimeter to test if theres a voltage inside the fitting? :D

 

if no try to trace where the wire meets the loom and try pick up a voltage there (cut in to wire + re rap with insulation tape) if yes then i would cut the wire there and check continuity(sp?) between the light fitting and the wire that is no-longer connected to the loom, if there is no continuity u needs a new wire;)
