View Full Version : Seperate Insurance for wheels
I want to insure my new wheels against theft, on there own, just the wheels. Is it possible to do this? i'm not talking car insurance, just general insurance not related to my motor policy. Can you take out custom policies with an insurance company, and if so, any ideas of where to inquire?
Ta
Matt
Yes you can, i dont know where though

1 out 2's not bad mate :D
Never heard of this Matt and I wouldn't have a clue where to go for a policy. You could try speaking to a brokerage. I work on the Commercial Insurance side, but haven't ever come across a PL policy for 'insuring wheels only'.

What does PL stand for?
I invstigated this when I bought mine, most insurance compaines will not touch them. The reason - over a period of time most people claim for damange to wheels either curb damage or damage from poor road conditions and it was just not commercially viable for them.

Sorry, Personal Lines, i.e. me and you.

I just want a theft policy, if i kerbed them then at least i'd still have the wheel :) I fully understand why no insurance company would insure for damage etc, that would be financial suicide

Would you know the type of insurance companies that would? i'm presuming they would be nothing to do with just the motor world?
