Did you break this driving? or was a other person involved? (i.e front seat action)
I'm assuming Tom that with yours having the Supra 6spd 'box that it will have used the supra shifter?
If so Jezzy might have one, if not then maybe Toyota but could be expensive. Maybe an idea to see if there is a quickshift kit available? could be cheaper.
thanks guys will post some pictures in a mo

If people buy POS gear levers with stress raisers carefully machined into the lousy material they are made from, then carry a spare gear lever, like you do a spare tyre :) A large proportion of people on here are probably carrying a spare that won't go over their brakes anyway or haven't tried to see if it will :)
Chris,
not sure if that is meant as critism but I bought the car as is. If you are slagging off the gear stick be advised I did not know.
IMHO, if you are slagging me off would have been nice to ask if I knew b4 hand.

Chris said "people", that sounds like a generalisation to me not a personal insult. Defensive today?
yes mate, I'm sick of the problems with this car. It is always some thing else. I have ploughed a load of money into it and it just keeps going wrong. It is putting me off of the whole ethos

Unless you use the Royal "We" it wasn't, of course, meant to be insulting, hence the term people. "People" tend to buy things like this without recourse to independent advice, having fitted a few for "people" I was aware just what P'sOS the things are :) I remember getting a short throw Ford gear lever for a race car, years ago, and my old dad telling me it had a major stress raiser where the circlip groove reduced the OD dramatically. I was adamant that as it came in a nice box from a well known tuning firm it must be superb. It snapped when I was winning my class in a race. I learnt that not all that glisters is gold that day, and stuck a stock Escort one back on. To be frank, if you drove a six speed with a custom longer gear lever and the anti vibration mounts modded, you'd probably love the change quality. IMHO the stock lever is too short, probably as fashion statement.
Chris,
the Aristo is a converted auto box, which probably explains the shifter length. I need to know how to fix it and get my car working again. Any advice or pointers would be good.
I'm not a technical person, far from it I work in sales to pay to keep my car on the road. So if some one can help it will be appreciated.
Tom:taped:
Sorry to here this Tom your not having a great deal of luck with the Aristo. I guess you can pick up a stock lever for a reasonable price

The stock gear levers are commically short, i imagine the handbrake gets right in the way when your reaching over.

Just buy a new stock gear lever? Someone may even have a good used one who has changed to one of the aftermarket types, or a new one with any associated bits needed can't be THAT dear? Or can it? Never priced one up.
Is that a B&M Tom? I've got a spare one you can borrow/buy if you want :)
