Ok just to get this right, if i was involved in a non fault accident and the other party has accepted full responsibility will i lose my NCB? I have just had a renewal from SKY and i have lost all of mine even though the case was settled and the other party accepted it was his fault.

Seems very bad that, I had an accident which was my fault and I kept my NCB? I would ask then to look at it if I were you

That doesn't spounds correct at all. If your insurance company didn't pay out then you should still have your NCB.

They might sting you a little as you'll have a non-fault accident to declare...

Sounds like a mistake on the insurance companies part, I'm sure they'll sort it out once you make contact.

Sky made some mistakes on my last renewal but it was all fixed after a short phone call

Not correct at all Rob. However if you have not recieved repayment of your insurance excess yet then the claim is not dealt with and it will affect your no claims.

Hi mate what they do is take your no claims Bonus for that year away and once cost recovered from third party they re-instate your NCB thats how it should work.

Hi Rob,

I work for an insurer. Was the decision contested at all by the TP insurer? They may have agreed to settle and Sky may have already paid out for the cost of the repairs to the TP vehicle before the the TP admitted fault, and they have not been reimbursed by the other insurer yet. Sky should have repudiated the claim.

Give them a call and speak to Jay.

Hi Robert.

We accept this may be a non-fault claim however it appears to still be outstanding. I've PM'd you as we are keen to speak to you and get this resolved.

Thanks

Ollie,

I think most people would be interested to hear the outcome of this and the circumstances behind why Robs accumulated NCB has not been honoured.

Are there any outstanding TP claims/expenses submitted by the TP insurer and can you confirm to Rob that the TP insured has admitted liability ? No 50/50 settlements behind the scenes I hope.

Would be good so future members know how to deal with such an issue, which it clearly is.

Cheers.

Well i'm glad to report we have spoken to Robert and his NCB has now been hounoured. We have spoken to robert and this has been clarified.

There is nothing pending behind the scenes although the claim is still outstanding, hence why the renewal was invited with 0 NCB.

I am not going to go into any presise details as this is confidential between Robert (the customer) and us.

Sheefa, the way you have worded your reply I assume you are under the impression that Sky are an underwriter. We are not, we are an insurance broker.

Regards

Ollie

Thanks Ollie.

That sounds like good news. No I understand you are a broker, I have been insured with you myself, and the insurer is Ensign if I remember correctly. Obviously though you have some form of contact with them to iron out discrepencies like this, hence my asking.

Cheers.
