Guest JonnyB
hi guys... My supe has 18 Inch Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 Tires 235 40 18's and i have no idea how much pressure to put in them....they are at 38 all round at which to me sounds like way to much.... Any ideas i've been looking everywhere for a recomended psi but no luck....
Kranz
I'd say 38 is too much. Probably around 34 to 36 but I'm sure someone with the same size tyres can reccomend the ideal pressures.
marc_p
I would say 32-34 but i'm sure you can check with the manufacturer.
Supra-Brett
My handling isnt right ever since i had 295s put on the back. I currently have 235/35/19 at the front and 295/35/19 at the rear. Standard suspension and weight. Any tyre pressure advice ?
Kranz
This thread covered the same topic http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=129057 And this one about 18 inchers http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=125024 It would seem that 32, 33, 34 & 35 have all been used

Guest JonnyB
well the way i did it was people said about this -10% pf the max psi thing... the max is 44 so -10% would be 39.6 ....so its at 38,,,is this true or just nonsence?

Don't think I'd trust that method for road use. It appears to be some fudge factor for running tyres for track use where the max sidewall indicated pressure won't be exceeded, so pre-race the tyres are inflated to within 10% of that figure. This is done cold, and as the tyre heats up it increases in pressure..... to something like the max safe pressure. Probably too high for road use. You should be able to tell by measuring the wear with an accurate tread depth guage. Even wear = the right pressure

dr_blackman
I find i get a lot of vibration with high pressures when braking but i don't when there fairly low like 30psi etc... with my 18's that is... They wore ok my last set of rears..
