View Full Version : New Project for someone - TT lump in this??
Tempting. It would be great fun to drive around the local streets and ruck up at the local chav meets in this, accidently grinding against other chavvy parked vehicles.

I got stuck behind a tank in Leeds city centre a few weeks ago on a Friday night. Rather an odd experience. I think one of the clubs must have hired it.

I used to drive these when i was in a recce troop, 6 people would be very tight indeed, its only really meant for 3!
1 driving
1 working the radio
1 Officer standing in the cupola pretending he knows where is going!!
richie
i know what ya mean and the bench on the baxk as a bed,
what regt were you?
Why not just delimit the Jag lump that's already in it? :eyebrows:
I commanded a Spartan CVRT for a few years and when we were stationed at Bovington me and my driver went out on a driver training cruise to Poole. Was great fun pootling round all my old haunts.
Popped into my folks' place for a cuppa too. You should have seen my Dads face when we parked up in the driveway.
I think a TT lump would be a little low on torque to make that move ;)
On a side note, my neighbour (in Glos) has just got his WW2 Panzer running again :D Can't wait to get a drive in that!

Don't you need special tracks to drive on the roads?
no, there all the same tracks, but it has to have the rubber on the track links,
plus you need a H licence to drive this

Too right mate. It would be world class.
M45sey, how would you go about acquiring the H element of your drivers license? Is that a HGV qualification?
Daryl, you might be right about the torque, but the sound of a loud atmospheric BOV would probably scare a few people along with the screamer pipe of a single turbo conversion. I reckon a nice fat T88 will push it along nicely.........or two of them. :)
'H' is a vehicle steered by its tracks so no, it's nothing to do with HGV.

join the army and become a tank driver?
apply for it through dvla and im sure theres loads of places that can teach how to drive with tracks
