Guest L&J Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 hi all, im fairly new to supras so please forgive me, im just wondering how the rear spats actually attatch? is it a case of bonding them on with bodykit glue stuff! Kieran Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 When you take off the bit of black plastic trim, you'll be left with 3 (IIRC) holes in the arch. You'll need to drill holes in the spats to match these holes and use the screws to fix them there. For the rest of the spats, I'd build up a thicker edge inside the spat with body filler so there's a big surface to bond to. Don't know if this is necessary for all spats as I've only seen Veilside and Bomex, suppose it depends on the shape. Not completely convinced I've explained that very well, but if you have a look at the car, it should be pretty clear what you need to do. EDIT: Tiger seal is supposed to be the best glue to use. paul mac Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 bonded mine on with fibreglass, pic shows a cut down fibreglass spat, the small holes are where i held it on until the glass dried, be advised i did most of the work here blending it but the body shop finished the final shape it is very difficult to get this spot on unless you have experience filling Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
