Im all booked up. Heading out on thurday night and back monday.

We might be going as long as it doesn't overlap with the dragonball.:)
I am going with a load of friend, never been before and cant wait! Dont know if i should take the supra or not though...any idea how much it would cost in petrol, those that have been before?

I'll be there again as usual. We haven't booked yet though. We usually go Wednesday and stay in Honfleur or similar, then turn up at the campsite Thurs. We leave Sunday and stay the night somewhere - Treuville the last couple of years, then head back Monday.
Going with a few mates and taking mine.
Got our Campsite, Grandstand and General Enclosure all for £127 p/p
Thursday-Sunday.
Travelling down to Boulogne on Wednesday evening.
Coming back Monday morning

Yeah, forgot to say I'll be camping in Houx again as usual. Dunno what theme we're going for this year with the cars. We might get round to trying to do union jack flames - couldn't find anyone to do them cheap enough last time so we went for normal flames.

I am thinking of going to Le Mans this year but haven't been before.
What route do you guys normally take? Do you just work out a route on google maps or something or is there prefered advised route for le mans visitors and good roads to take detours for? I know EVO did a trip there last year but don't know if they published a guide to le mans weekend.

Maison Blanche seems like a good laugh Doug. Not far from the pub either.......:D Don't know where we'll go tbh. Used to go to blue and then spent a couple on rouge.
Last time we went to a no camping area inside the circuit and just set up the tent. Weren't even challenged by the froggies!!:)

Things have changed. MB used to be very much a free for all. Last year they marked out 7mX5m pitches and zoned them off. So if you were in Zone A and all your mates were in Zone C then you had to camp in Zone C. This year we've heard that each pitch will be individually numbered.
I know some of the othet sites have numbered pitches, but at least they have proper facilities and and electrical hook ups. In MB there's sod all. We're still waiting to hear from the ACO to find out what our allocation is.

About 3 years ago we stayed in a Villa with a pool on the outskirts of Le Mans. It was great but a real PITA getting to and from the circuit in the car and it also restricted your beer intake!
I like to camp and drink until I pass out. It wouldn't be the same if you can't make a pyramid out of stubby bottles of Stella.......;)

Houx has numbered pitches, but like you say there are electrical and water hookups. We always get a block of 7 or 8 pitches anyway, and then organise ourselves within that, gazebo on one bit, tents on another etc.
Its a great weekend, ive been every year since 2000 but planning a couple of trips to the ring this year so going to watch it on tele.

I fancy going again to see it properly this time but it pissed down on Sunday and ruined it for the lads with me - so I doubt they'd go again!

I've just been invited by a mate from work who's going in his cousin's RX-7 and a couple of Supras (not sure if they're anyone on here, but they're from the Dover/Folkestone are I think). Very tempted to join in as I've not done Le Mans before :)

Petrol will depend entirely on your route and where you cross the channel. And your right foot ;) I'm still waiting to hear how much this is too. If it's too much I might just get a lift in someone else's car and split the fuel.

Petrol costs should be somewhere around £180 from Sussex, maybe less. I just paid £65 for my crossing. Ticket for the circuit is about £45....!! You'll also need about £25 for a camping spot around the circuit!

Eurotunnel charge more if you go for 5 days or more I think. We run into this every year, it's very annoying!

I booked my ferry direct with P&O. Don't get your camping through an agent, you can sort out most things wehen you get there at the circuit. Unless things have changed since I last went......:blink:

we've managed to get a 5day ferry pass for £120 for 2 people with sea france.
heading down thursday morning catching 9.45 am ferry to calais. Can't wait now :nana:
Right then, just booked my return hotel visit in Abbeville!
Trip is now set as follows.
Set of from Wigan/Manchester about 6pm Weds 12th
Arrive hotel in Dover about 10.30pm
Ferry Crossing 10.05am Thursday 13th
Arrive at Le Mans 8pm, Thursday evening
Camp Thurs, Fri, Sat at the circuit
After race, return to Abbeville and stay in Hotel Sunday night
Return Ferry 11.30 Monday 16th

Well our last minute planning meeting went well, so far between six of us we have a large bottle of vodka packed, no-where to sleep on the Thursday night and a long list of stuff that needs to be got before Wednesday! We did have a damn good curry and watched 'Gone in 60 Seconds' though:d

I never bother with deflectors. I bought some once years ago and couldn't figure out where to attach them. I never really drive at night over there anyway.

You can just go and get your tickets at the track. You can also get your camping permits etc while you are there. As long as you can get a crossing then you'll be laughing. We have booked a ferry but we'll buy all the other stuff when we get there.
If you want to try and tag along with us Jamie then that would be great. We'll be hitting Dover at 9.00 Thursday morning for a 10.00 crossing. I think that this ferry is now full. You could always catch us on the other side. I'll pm you my mobile if needed.....;)

Have been working at Dover Docks last few days and seen some stunning cars going out to Le Mans. Seen a few Supes looking very nice. Also seen Zondas, Ferraris by the shed load although the F40 was better than all the rest. Lambos, Aston Martins etc. Got a few to boot them on the way to check-in. Put a massive smile on my face, my work mates think i'm sad :D
Wish I still had the Supe to along in as they dont look out of place amongst the other supercars IMO
