BASHTHEBISHOP
The sup had been sat for 3 or 4 days til this morning but started 1st time as always. After i had been driving for 5mins (about 1mile) there was a very strong smell of petrol within the car. This lasted for about 10mins & was starting to give me a headache when it went again. No massive drops on the fuel guage. I did a few hundred miles over xmas & she hasnt missed a beat or any change in fuel consumption. Should i be worried? Are there things i should check? Dnk
Supprised if you have a leak that the smell went away but worth checking. I'd get it on a ramp and check the fuel lines, we've seen a few supras with very heavy corrosion on these and there def worth checking. While your under there check the brake lines as well which are right next to the fuel lines and are also showing signs of bad corrosion on quite a few we've seen. These run along the near side chassis rail and go up over the rear axle.
miko_supra
see if the smell is stronger in the boot. i had a small leak from the pump with a small puddle of fuel around it. it was due to the fuel line that comes off of the fuel pump needing a quarter turn to make it seal properly
