Ok, since having the Supra and Skyline i have noticed the little childish comments i recieve.
I dont mean on the board, i mean out and about, and at meets.
They try to put across that im thick and stupid, just because i dont know much about the car just yet, but i know enough.
Im quite girly as well, so that doesnt help.
But some wank** started really slating me, saying how can a girl know anything, esp looking like that blah blah, go back to your makeup.
He didnt know i have 6 alevels, play piano and the drums, and am starting my ba degree in business.
But i couldnt be bothered to argue.
Just my little rant!!!!!!!!!! I dont see what people get out of putting other people down in one way or another!
p.s peeded is PI**ED OFF, didnt really want to swear lol but argh!!

Its very sad but in this day and age we are that image obsessed that most average people struggle to realise that stereotypes can be broken.
I mean the whole chav thing is basically a sad testiment to the fact that people cannot raise themselves above the image they present.

My mum had a few dodgy looks from young guys when she drove my Supra to work a few weeks back. It's probably just a testosterone thing - they can't handle a girl driving a better car than them! :)

It can be quite amusing though... I went out to buy pizza, parked nearby and was waiting outside for them to cook it. Their delivery truck turned up and couldn't get into their yard (not because of me I might add)... guy from pizza shop came out and I was about to offer to move my car when he ran off to the Chinese, the Indian and the fish and chip shop to ask who owned it. He came back looking baffled, and I asked him if he'd like me to move my car. He was very embarrassed (quite rightly) and said he didn't expect a girly to have a car like that, and gave me a big tub of Hagen Daaz as compensation!

Alot of people are too quick to judge you. Im an engineer and i do look scruffy becuase im always working in dirty conditions. Sales people dont bother me and also beggers they look at me say nothing and then start asking the person behind me i do find it funny.
just ignore them as they arent worth the effort but it is sad though but then some people are like that.
I always seem to get the sales people/beggers looking at me twice in the street... guess they arent sure if they should hassle me or not lol

I find it's not just chavs, it's older men as well that should Know better.
On a Piston Heads meet one of the TVR drivers came up to me and said "That's a bit of a macho car for a girly isn't it" Then asked me loads of questions about the Supe, i think to catch me out. He asked how the Turbos worked, what tracks had i been on, etc.
Most of the time though, boys/men seem interested in the fact I'm such a petrolhead. :)

I think it's great that a gorgeous girl can have 2 ultimately blinding cars n do other kool stuff. Jo on here has a subtle....ok then, lairy pink twin turbo with chrome wheels and I think that's way cooler than some middle aged bloke with a 1000bhp Jap machine.

What a shame. Good we are not all like that. Hope you stick around and try not to let that spoil your enjoyment of the scene. I shudder to think that you would be discouraged to ever think of not attending another meet becuase of it, it would be so sad. There are lots more girls involved in the scene now, and thats the way it should be. If we guys feel threated by it we need to grow up, and find other ways to cope instead of putting people down. :search:

Dunno, but a lot of the women around Whitchurch have heeded that advice. The TV said Pennsylvania USA was home to the worlds most overweight people, they obviously missed the womenfolk of our local market town off their studies :)
