hiya - taking off from where foodfreak suggested a relaxed gathering in another thread in london. who's potentially up for this ? doug, supraguy, earth (think he's back by then?), paulE, u_ali, wez, trd3000gt .... ? i'm sure there are a few more london-based people whom i haven't remembered (my apologies) and of course anybody else from anywhere else is very, very welcome (kent massiv?). i think foodfreak meant at the end of nov (or did you mean oct john?) and someplace that has parking space and a bit of shelter ie pub etc etc. anyone with suggestions pls ? your thoughts please gentlemen.
yeah.... end of Nov. - I'm flat out 'till then, anywhere decent in Hampsted/ Highgate that you know of with decent parking Roy?

i'll keep a look-out. think highgate maybe a bit difficult but hampstead should have possibilities .. or maybe even brent's cross carpark ?
Not a relaxed watering hole though:)
ever tried the Orange Tree at Totteridge?....... not too bad.
sometimes get the 'real' posers turn up in Porches etc....

O.K Guys & Gals.....
Just checked out the Orange Tree Pub in Totteridge.
Has parking for about 40 Cars, spoke to Landlady(very Nice):)
and She had no objections, will put aside an area of the pub for us if about 20+ show up......... BUT NO SILLY STUFF.... we are not the Max Shower brigade:thumbs:
They do some good grub........ & the beer's not bad either
This would also be a good summer venue for a meet
any other suggestions

edited after seeing john's last post - shall we tentatively say 3rd weekend of nov ? with the 4th weekend as the fall-back date ?

john - no worries about stepping on his toes, i'm bigger than he is so i'll sort 'im out when he needs a clip 'round the ear. the 23rd sounds good. millhouse, sg, tim, jive n all others roll on up. hope you can make it JB but bringing el tel is strictly optional for you as he can be a right pain sometimes .. :innocent:

They're solid, with people waiting to get in.

I would say Sundays are never good for a pub, they have too much family business going through to really allow 20 Supras to clog up the car park (1 person per Supra, 5 people per Mondeo...)
Needs to be a saturday if a pub is going to agree with it. Depends how you classify North London. Theres always Quincys on the A41 at Watford, of TGI Fridays on the A1 in Mill Hill...Im sure those places could cope with a crowd on a Sunday.

Where When Why....
I might come...Have we found anywhere yet who do ya need some Ideas if so I rekon the Thames Court (Vintage Inns) in Shepperton is good....loads of parking by the Thames and they have a huge car Park (very picturesque riverside pub/resturaunt) very near M3/M25 so easy for London Crew and easy access for South coasters...and no ones going to get 'shot' there he he.
Only 20 miles for me to travel
Just an idea.
I'll do some more thinking if ya like

Edit: Orange Tree in Totteridge Nr Barnet is userly v good I been there a fair bit...it is a Vintage Inns, The Thames Court is same kind of thing really but Orange Tree is bout 3 miles from my house.

Hi Food freak. The Thames Court is great same kind of thing as Orange Tree, Though there is a real nice country pub that does food called the Black Swan in Ockham nr Cobham Surrey..again its very picturesque and in the middle of nowhere so we wont upset anyone.
It has a very VERY big car park and is listed on all the Biker pub sites...I'm sure they would be happy to have us either Saturday or Sunday judging by their huge car park.
Easy access from A3/M25 not sure how good the food is but i'm told its very good...There would be NO problem with parking certainly.
You get a lot of classic cars there on Sundays and lots of Bikes The Vintage Biker club goes there. They serve real ales and I have been there and its a good place. They also have live music there sometimes....so bring an instrament he he. They also have a Pool Table and an outside childrens play area...
Tried to look for a website but can't find one yet...
Anyway just another idea I'll keep looking.
I don't mind where I go...Any other ideas guys n gals!

I don't really care where we go I was just thinking of somewhere Geographically convenient for every one....especially considering that some may want to come from the Southampton or West Country then everyones average milage there would hopefully be nearer the same....

TGIs should be kiddie friendly, its an american style family restaurant and they have kiddie parties and everything.
One problem with TGI might be the price, normally about Ģ15 for a fajita and Ģ10 for a burger...

Yep its safe to bring the kids to either of those places I mentioned The Black Swan has or used to have a play area and they are both family pubs (so I'd better start a family or I won't be allowed in)
I really don't care where I go as long as its not up the OXO tower......I'm sure where ever you guys choose will be good. I'm not a great fan of TDI (sorry TGI I mean) their portions are too big for me...(no carry on jokes....peerlease)

Hi all,
I have found another place that would be ideal. but it's a little way out between watford & Radlett
It's a pub/ restaurant called Moor Hill (JB/Terry may know it)
there's parking for at least 70 Cars, large picnic area, Mill pond to feed Ducks(if that's your thing), Bar food & restaurant, it would also be a great Summer venue.
I spoke to the Landlady/Manager....... no objections at all and it's 5 minutes from the Watford little Chef ( Junction 6..M1) where we all met up for Billing, so it's easy for people comming on the M25

Foodfreak's suggestion sounds pretty easy for me (for once I might be in the right-ish area of the country), so that would be my choice.. TGI does pretty good food, as others have said it's expensive but I'm still happy with that.. I'm more interested in convenience to get to - the easier it is from Aylesbury, the happier I am with the selection :D
Since it's unlikely that this will happen before 15/11, what are the chances of it being after 1/12? Otherwise, my vote doesn't count, because I won't be there :)

:baa: :innocent: :D I know, but it's even worse now I work from home some of the time. It means I can do anything between 200 and 1000 miles a week! With a service interval of 3500 miles (2500-4500 allowed by the warranty) that can difficult to plan for.
Actually after the last time I had a cunning plan of setting one of the trip meters to record millage since the last service, so when it reached 2500 miles I could book it in for a months time and it should land nicely between 3500-4500 miles. Only one thing I didn't plan for.... the bloody battery problems I had which resulted in the trip meters being reset! :mad:

Yep I had that problem this morning!!!!
I think its the one off the M25 Junc 21a and head south - looking at the map I've got, it will take you towards a place called Waterdale.
Well thats where Rosie and I will be going so we'll probably end up having a mini meet instead!!!

5 minute journey for me....we will be using that venue again.
Big thanks for Foodfreak for finding and sorting it, even with dodgy weather it worked out well. Foodfreak, can you find out how many people they can reasonably cater for, see if they throw a fit at 100+ people if you can.
Shame I had to go early, my brother had to go back up north so I had to get him back to me house to get his car.

Sorry to hear that mate, wasn't at all intentional but I guess no-one knew you were Supe people either- next time just talk to as many peeps as you can- or find me or Faye (safe bet you'll be talking to supe owners as there always less chicks) and we'll introduce you to the ones we know- there was lots I didn't know today myself!

Yeah Stu, I'll add to that- my first meet I just bit the bullet and spoke to people- it's gets easier each meet as you know more and more people.
WHen we walked in I only recognised a few faces and had no idea if anyone else in there was a supe person or not...difficult to tell, sorry, really, next time come and say hello more forcefully...!

Hey Stu , hope your not put off , i wasnt there today but if i was i would have talked to ya , you can allways recognise me im the quiet one with the subtle shirt :cool: . Really most of the guys are very chatty when you get to know them but thats easy to say , i know what its like when you dont know anyone , you should have posted and said im thinking about going but dont know anyone , then you would have been mobbed when you got there:thumbs:

Cheers Roy but honestly did try and acknowledged several people as i was about the third person there!Turned up at about 11.00 am and saw I presume leon parking his bright orange car who who also stayed in his car for a while...after a few more turning up eventually decided to go in along side who i believe to be "food freak"...as we went in there were a couple of tables joined up and we were seated further down..very awkward as people rolling in and not knowing anyone seemed hard to make conversation..if it wasn't for the weather i think it would have been easier as people would have been by their cars and we could have all just got out and got talking...British weather eh!:conf:

Stu , thats a real S**t dude , some people get embarrassed when meeting people they dont know (like me) next time theres a meet make sure you tell people your coming , pm someone (me , Roy , Rosie etc) and make sure you know who you are looking for then we can introduce you to the guys and you wont feel left out , im really sorry this happened and i wasnt even there !!! Give it another go at another meet like the Hatfield one , if im going i'll give you my phone number so as we dont miss each other , i'll evben bring a Hawian shirt for ya:D :cool: :thumbs:
