jevansio
Just picked up my new tyres today R888's, 295 on the back, feck me they look huge. Ryan is up again mapping the car tomorrow, was losing traction on the dyno with the F1's, can't wait for the temps to pick up now & test these bad boys out. jevansio
Nice one, they do tend to grip well I couldn't believe how much they transformed my old MR2, it was like getting into a 4WD car
lockys96
in the wet?
Paul Whiffin
Yep, they are pretty good in the wet, soft compound so they still grip as long you get temp into them. No good in standing water though.
jevansio
I got them mainly for the dyno & the summer, you'd be an idiot to unleash 500 rwhp in this weather, unless you're a very experienced driver IMHO (which I'm not )

Nic
How well do they tend to wear with general road use?

An idoit i am (it was great fun though) I have just put brand new toyo's on the back and am finding the grip amazing, obviously it still spins them up but in the weather what can you expect. Look forward to hearing how you find these.

Gord R
Great tyres - have done quite a few events on them now and always been impressed.
Syed Shah
http://www.tirerack.com You can get better tires, for less money. £190 is a lot for a R888. I paid less than that for Michelin Sport Cups.

I paid less than that for Michelin Sport Cups. Are you sure, PS Cups are $396 for a size smaller than mine ($534 for the closest matching size), add on delivery & import duty and they're way over £190. I thought £190 was a pretty good deal for a 295 semi slick on 19's
Syed Shah
Ah - your on 19"s. Sorry, I was thinking 18"s. Can I ask why you would want a 19" R-Compound? Seems an odd mix of bling/performance.

Seems an odd mix of bling/performance. I know it's a bit strange, I got these wheels a while back & love them, they're discontinued now & I loath to give them up. I needed extra grip on the dyno so it was either get a set of wheels esp for the dyno, or go for these
