im realy confused now, when i asked a while back about induction kits in this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=128153 it seemed that the stock box with stock filter or better filter was the best option but when ive checked most peoples garages and looked at these engine spec MOST TT's are using Apexi, Blitz, Greddy or other makes of induction kit. if the best is the stock box why isnt everyone changing back???????? have i missed something

A lot of people change it for the looks, some change it for the noise the induction kit produces.

Others have no choice as if you go single then the Stock airbox does not offer enough air flow.

The Stock box is the best for a Stock setup or Hybrids, if you do go for an aftermarket induction kick to replace the stock airbox then Apexi is the one to go for. Avoid the HKS or similar mushroom style induction kits, these offer hardly any filtration for your engine.

thanks, i was going to get the apexi one if i did go for another induction kit because at the minute ive got a crappy pipercross induction kit and was either going to get a better filter like the apexi or go back to the stock box with a TRD filter from Nic, not sure if the stock box will go back now with the FMIC piping in the way,

That may be an issue, best maybe someone close to you that will have a stock box, remember that a N/A box and UK box are different (the way it connects to the intake pipe).

ok thanks i didnt know that, i might try and track one down, but at the same time ive got chrome piping going to my induction kit and dont realy want to change it back to stock, so might go with your idea of Apexi and duct it properly and get a heat sheild or box made up for it
