am i right in saying that if i connect a stereo`s permanent live wire to the batteries pos terminal and the earth wire to the cars frame then it will work? and to check the audio then connect it to a speaker
yeah it will work mate. although you could just pop the negative onto the negative of the battery ;)

Do yourself a favour and stick a fuse inline on the power side as well just to be safe.

10 amp max I think. You may actually be ok thinking about it. Most newer stereos have one plugged into the back of them now.

it should have then again it doesnt take long to take the dash out does it might just do that

Stereo should be bolted into the cage. I can't remember now how hard it is to whip the whole double din cage out. Maybe a search will show up a how to guide?
