How do you clean the stock intake manifold and the stock metal piping to and from the turbos? You know, the "rugged" metal marked on the attached pic?

Normal engine wash and the common cleaners i've tried doesnt seem to help one bit.

-And I'm not interested in grinding/sanding it all down:p, just to get it clean

Just get some cheap own brand multi purpose cleaner from the supermarket (about 80p) and dilute it with water (4:1 ish) - combine this with a stiff brush to remove the grime.

Then use a brass suede brush or a similar wire brush that's not too harsh and gently scrub away (a dremel / drill with a light wire brush attachment also works but stay away from the plastics). This gets down into the textured finish, wire wool also works but it falls apart, drops into gaps and then goes rusty.

Then metal polish and elbow grease.
