knight-racer
15-12-07, 10:39
Due to the recent demand and interest in HID conversion kits, we have managed to get in contact with a few HID kit manufacturers and test a few kits ourselves. We can now offer complete HID conversion kits at 6000k (whitest before it gets too blue).

http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o180/knight_racer/accessories/HID_kit01.jpg

We can offer a group buy price for 10 members at £80 with FREE delivery within mainland UK. Paypal payments only (plus their 3.5% please so thats total £82.80) to *krbodykits@yahoo.com*

Please type your USERNAME in the subject title of the paypal payment.

These will come with a 12 month warranty covered by ourselves. But will not cover any accidents, misuse or improper installation.

Due to the supras having different light bulb sizes (9006 or 9005) we will need to know in advance by the member exactly which one is required to make sure we have sufficient stock. Although we will have some more coming in the next couple weeks.

J-spec Low/Dipped beam = 9005
J-Spec Main/High beam = 9005

UK-spec Low/Dipped beam = 9006
UK-spec Main/High beam = 9005

We also hold stock of other bulb fitments i.e. H1, H4, H7 etc.

So for those who want a set, please type your username & bulb fitment.

I will keep this first post updated for easy reference. ;)

Given it has been explicitly stated that failing to install them correctly will invalidate the warranty, I thought it fair to ask if warranty safe instructions would be included.

I believe both bulbs are the same for dipped and main beams. But i personally wont go for HID for the mains, because it takes a few seconds to heat up initially, so if you were to flash someone, by the time they are fully bright, the guy you're flashing will be gone!

J-Spec fogs are 9005, same as the main's.

Are all J-Spec's not 9005 regardless of being facelift or non facelift?

I'm afraid we wont be doing the H3 in this group buy. Just the 9005 and 9006 bulb sizes for now.

Supra Dipped loom - cable - ballast - ignitors - bulb

So we are saying it goes together like the image below & the remaining cable connects to the old light cable?

knight-racer

Yes that looks correct. Please make sure all plugs are connected securely. They are quite tight to prevent water getting in.

Any problems please let us know immediately.

14-01-08, 13:50
If you have a look at the 2 pin plug off the standard loom that normally goes to the standard bulb. You plug this into the HID plug off a cable that goes to the ballast. Please make sure the colours of the wires are correct i.e. red to red. If not, turn the plug around.

:d They have just arrived! Wooooo. Thanks knight racer, it looks a good bit of kit. I've taken the day off work on Friday to sort my lights out. Got full HID and clear lenses to fit and probably do a bit of an interior respray at the same time. I'll post pictures Friday night to let you know how I went on.

Excellent!

When fitting the kit, please check that the 2 wires on the plug that goes back into the standard loom is the correct way round (red to red) as in photo above. I've had a few who have had to just hardwire the 2 because the plug wouldnt clip. Easy job really ;)

I will chase up the others, but please bear with me because we sent out quite a few at once. I will see what i can do.

Hi guy's i have fitted the HID's wow they make a load of difference, 1 question though, the drivers side seems to be brighter than the passengers, is this normal?

could it be the alignment?

knight-racer
16-01-08, 11:39
Yes they are very bright! You might have to play around with the alignment to make them equal again. If it is the actual bulb emitting different densities of light, then please let me know asap.

Yeah it could be the alignment, i only had a quick look in the rain last night but one seems a lot brighter than the other, i'll have a proper look at the weekend and let you know, cheers for the quick response

I checked all connections etc last night, i noticed that the polarity is correct on the drivers side but reversed on the passenger side to get the lights to work, i have a J spec car and i know that there has been issues with having to reverse the polarity but i assumed this would have to be done on both ballasts, has anyone else had this problem?

Had a bit of spare time so fitted them. No problems in fitting them at all including the polarity or alignment .
I took the the headlamps out, makes the job much easier.
This is where I fitted the units.
A beautiful kit worth every penny.

Good to hear mate. Yes, they are incredibly straight forward to fit! But they might appear complicated at first when you see all the cables and ballasts out the box ;)

Finally fitted my Glass facelifts & the HID's, i found that the connector from the kit does'nt mate to the existing plug, and if fitted as they should be to clipped together, will be red to black(wires), so you need to hard wire them together, or i cut away the plastic shielding from the kit connector just down to the 1st shoulder, it will now mate with the original connector, might be an idea to insulate with some tape for some extra weather protection. Cracking kit Knight-racer.

Where did you get glass facelifts? or was it just a set of regular glass lights that were refurbed to facelift?

Cheers

Guys, did anybody in this GB get the fogs? I'm about to purchase a set and I need to confirm that both the fogs and the low-beams are both 9005, although others early in this thread said they weren't. If the fogs are not 9005, what are they?

Yes, to confirm the front fogs are H3 mate... WE can supply them in HID as well... They will be £ 100 delivered.

But if I have enough interests (i.e. 10 or more), I will be able to offer it at a group buy price, like the others..

How many is interested???
