My HIDs Dont work

I'm not sure that's very good advice. It might not blow anything up, but it would be far better to check for any markings on the ballast units and test the connectors from the car with a multimeter if necessary.

Won't hurt, done it loads of times when i have put mine back the wrong way around, they seem to behave like a diode, only work one way.

Oh and i was referring to the plugs that actually go to the std light plugs.

Yeah, that's the plug I was referring to.

I'm sure you're right about your particular unit, but they aren't neccessarily all the same. In particular, some of the cheaper versions (such as sold on ebay) may have less protection.

yes, same on mine, switch the ballast plug other way round, bit tricky because mine had the catch on the plug to stop it going on but iit worked.

helpful to the max,

Ill do a braniac, and reverse it. worst case it costs me another £80 and I hear a pop.

:)

But im sure it will be fine.

HID ballasts need a minimum voltage to fire up the bulbs, if the voltage is too low they will not illuminate at all or may just flicker.

Try connecting them directly to your battery, if they work then, it's a wiring/earth problem, adding a relay will ensure correct voltage.

As already suggested, also try swapping the bulbs and ballasts around.
