Tricky-Ricky
Interesting but i don't think its of any real benefit without doing extensive mods to the turbo exhaust housings.

Gazboy
What about more wooshie nosies ? Sod the wooshies, would this mean a more reliable way of holding boost?
colsoop
Dale (skunk2) used to have this setup on his car
Chris Wilson
So they get rid of the very sophisticated stainless bellows section that allows a long 6 pot cast iron manifold to exist with absolutely NO cracking issues, weld in what looks like a bit of industrial pipe fitting, and paint it black? So the manifold becomes a very long, unbroken solid section. To me it looks like the cons outweigh the pros.
Suprash
Sod the wooshies, would this mean a more reliable way of holding boost? True, now you have said I remember them, people, saying that Hyrbids are limited by the wastegate, or am I making this sh*t up again...... but Chris, providing it was a good fabrication.......? Daston
toyota probly spent £100,000's getting that manifold just right, why would a ted in a shed come up with something better?
Thorin
To me it looks like the cons outweigh the pros. But think of the nice noises it would make Chris! You're not really up on this car modifying lark are you?
Chris Wilson
Not if it makes a reliable manifold UNreliable, no

I dont think the point here was about making wooshie noises, Gaz just asked why, I mearly gave an option why someone would fit an external wastegate, he then questioned could we hold better boost, so I dont see why your implying what you are mate.... fu*k maybe its my time of the month today, but even you now are stressing me out......
