Soop Dogg Posted December 10, 2007 Share Posted December 10, 2007 I have a Toyota pdf here for the 2JZ-GTE which, in the section for adjusting valve clearances, when it gets to refitting the valve covers states: Apply sealant at indicated No. 1 and 2 valve cover sealing areas on front of cylinder head. See Fig. 8. Using NEW gaskets, install No. 1 and 2 valve covers. Tighten bolts to specification. I just used Hermetite red.
