My UK spec has a stock alarm and imb, how do you guys with the same prove to Sky insurance it has this?

Also is the stock system cat 1?

I always thought if it was factory it was automatically included. Did all UK's have a factory alarm immob?

Then surley Sky would know if it was a UK chassis number/registration it will have the factory system? Fairly sure they're a cat1 system. They're a bitch to chop out when you've lost the fobs, I know that much. Perhaps send them the alarm booklet? Does it have any kind of serial number noted in the booklet?

Nah nothing at all. I can imagine if I do have to get a cert for it that Mr T will know how to charge for an A4 piece of paper.

It's not a factory fit alarm, they were fitted by the dealers in the UK.

It's called a "Toyota 5000" but is actually a Scorpion 5000 cat 1, the Thatcham approval number is TC1-75/0694.

The alarm doc describes it as:

"The theft deterrent system fitted to this vehicle has designed in accordance with the recommendations of the association of British insurers. It provides a deterrent by combining an engine immobiliser with a security module that controls warning sirens"

And it should have...

Passive Arming

2 Stage Immobiliser

Auto Reset

Battery Backup Siren

Door, bonnet and boot protection

Ultrasonics

Adrian Flux were happy enough to accept this on mine before I swapped the alarm for something else.

Thats the one it has all this documented in the booklet. I will give it a go when I call them to ask.
