Guest mossy86
if you de-cat your car would it make it harder on petrol??
R Black
Do you mean use more petrol? No not really as it will be more efficient, so less i would imagine.
gaz1
yeah mine is well hard:p seriously the engine will work harder so yes it will use more fuel, but worth it:D and only use the high octane petrol;)
d00gzy
someone tell me if this will fit my 94 NA and i'll let you know about the petrol thing ....
R Black
I think i read somewhere that UK specs use 3 bolts, if thats right it won't fit, i'm sure someone here knows for sure.
d00gzy
you would think, but i've heard different stories from everyone!
Gaz Walker
Hard to see from that angle but that looks like a US spec single pipe full de-cat for a turbo model. Unfortunately its going to be useless for yours. For an NA you need an NA specific front de-cat pipe and a 2nd de-cat pipe. If you have a look at this picture: http://www.envyperformance.com/images/new_stuff/280907/decat2.jpg The one on the right is a 2nd de-cat pipe (fits all model Supras). Note the 2 bolt flanges on the end. The one on the left is a J-spec Turbo 1st de-cat (3 bolt fitment). This will not fit an NA as it has a multi-branch fitment. HTH! Regards, Gaz. d00gzy
great! not the answer i wanted but at least i know now, thanks for that! pipe is just wastin space in my bedroom, its the spare third pipe that i got with the XS power cat back system! will try and flog it on ebay as a US spec decat then, cheerz for that ;-)
Gaz Walker
Not a problem Sir
d00gzy
is there anyway of modifying it to suit, feels am awfy waste to throw it in the bin ...
Gaz Walker
Can you get a pic of it top down as I can't see if its just a second cat or a combined pipe from that angle? If its just a second cat, you could change the flange and it will be fine Gaz.
d00gzy
see last post, dunno if thats any help from that angle?
Gaz Walker
Thats a double de-cat. You could modify it but it'd be a lot of work. You could sell it on here for a UK spec car though?
d00gzy
cheerz gaz! :-) will advertise it here, wouldnt mind swapping it for A 2nd decat for my NA, will play around with that idea i think! ta
