decat on an n/a

hi my car is in having new crankshaft and cam seals fitted and while i was in there the mechanic said i should get rid of both cats, he reckons i could gain upto 40bhp. i think he's dreaming abit but is it worth doing. will it make the car alot noiser (istart work at 6am) cheers j

You're not going to find much performance from going double or even single de-cat in an N/A. I've removed both of mine already & if I'm honest I wish i never as it's way to loud for what I get from it! At the time when i had the 2nd cat in it was load anough! So It's up to you what you do but just beware it will be LOUD
