FCD on a UK spec

Hi guys

Posting this on behalf of a mate, as he has had mixed answers. He has a UK spec Supe and is going to be going for a full decat and has done all mods bar the FCD.

He has been told he does not need one as the stock UK ECU has a higher fuel cut limit than the jspec cars (1 bar?).

Is this correct or does he need the FCD to go to the 1.2bar?

Hopefully all that made sense lol

Cheers

Ian :)

Does anyone know for certain, if the MAP sensor on a UK spec does anything other than monitor boost for over boost/fuel cut purposes?

It has nothing to do with the fuelling as that's all done by the MAF sensor.

I'm sure I remember Alex simply disconnecting the MAP sensor on his VVTi, which also controls fuelling via a MAF sensor.

If that's the case, you may not need an FCD. Simply remove the vacuum hose and block it up.

I stand to be corrected if anyone knows for certain that the MAP sensor plays another part on a UK spec

Please note, that other than a VVTi, this is NOT the case with a JDM Supra. The JDM Supra DOES use the MAP sensor to control fuelling, and unplugging this will result in all sorts of problems :)
