Guigsy
"easy" a little over 3k supplied and fitted (tt engine and an auto gearbox) the 6 speed (if you can find one) will cost you another 3k. You can keep your 5 speed but i imagine at anything other than stock power levels it wouldnt last very long.
Guest recaro18
how much would the tt engine engine cost with a 6speed, if you could find one or import one?
Scooter
how much would the tt engine engine cost with a 6speed, if you could find one or import one? if you haven't got an NA yet then i would mention that you can buy a late na that has the 6 speed box in it already..............that leaves you to 'just' find a good TT motor, loom and ECU......... Guest recaro18
Tidy so the late NA's 6speed will withstand the power of a tt engine? cheers for the help guigsy and scooter
JustGav
My answer may have been a lot short... this question comes up SOOO often though, you will learn to hate it as well. If you don't have anything at the moment, you are far better off buying a TT auto as you will find them fairly cheap at the moment. Buying an NA will cost you more by the time you have ripped it all out and replaced bits. Speak from experience.
Scooter
Tidy so the late NA's 6speed will withstand the power of a tt engine? cheers for the help guigsy and scooter yep gearbox will be fine, clutch maybe not and it is geared lower so long term a TT manual or TRD diff may be advisable. gaz1
its easy take your n/a and place in a skip, buy a tt auto take out auto box and place next to the n/a, then fit the 6 speed for about 3k and bobs your uncle:p
