Hi I have this Turbo to fit and need to know more about it?
I know it should be a PT67DBB?
Its Turbine (Hot) side wheel is 67MM
The Compressor (Cold) side wheel max diameter is 84MM and minimum is 68MM
It has a 2.5" cold air out to FMIC
A 4" Cold Inlet from air filter
A 3" V Band outlet for downpipe
A T4 Mounting flange
Is oil and water cooled
On the Cold air polished side it reads BCI A/R .70
and M24
On the Turbo snail it reads A/R .81
And Obviously it says garrett on it too.
I have tried to research this but can only find specs on different sized Turbos to mine!
Basically I need to know
1 Is it a Wet float or Ball Bearing type?
2 What is its HP rating?
3 What is it called? ie GT67/PT67/To4E etc etc...
Heeeelp :sos:

Is there a part number on of any kind? Garrett turbos normaly have a plate on the centre section with the details on. Then you can check ot on the garrett web site.
looks a bit like a 4088r, but it has a different cold housing. Has water connections in the housing so it could be an early dbb?

My vote is water cooled 0.81 a/r exhaust side 0.70 compressor side T67 P trim possibly DBB turbo. Depending on what you read its a 600 odd HP turbo.

Does anybody know how i can check to see if its Ball bearing without a full stripdown? I want to check i have the correct sized oil feed?
The current oil feed seems too big for a DBB
The turbo IS used (But recently reconned) and seems to have a lot of vertical but no horizontal play..which points to a DBB....or a knackered Turbo?
Cheers

Well i honestly dont know EXACTLY which turbo it is but we can narrow it.
Its NOT a PT67dbb, as Precision marks there turbos with Precision Turbo writing, this clearly shows garrett compressor housing.
I believe its a GT40 series turbo, how did you measure the compressor wheel? Is it exactly those sizes or just really close? The GT4088R compressor wheel is very close to that.
It also the compressor cover resembles a GT4088R on the turbobygarrett.com's website. The big bolt on the housing right near the compressor discharge is what i'm comparing.

Ok Thanks for that,
I have done plenty of research and on the Garrett site it does not list a Turbine A/R of .81 or an Compressor A/R of .70 so its defo not a Garrett.
The dims and facts posted by me are exact measured with a digital vernier caliper.
Any other ideas?

Maybe I'm missing the obvious here, but if it's not a Garrett, why does it have Garrett written across the compressor housing?
It looks exactly like a GT4088R to me
The exhaust housing can vary, for example, i can supply that GT4088R with the sizes from Garrett's site or .68, .81, .96 which is what we end up doing. Several members on here dump the exhaust housing in favor of that undivided .81 you have.
Another chance for part #s, if you take the exhaust housing off the CHRA, there MAY be engraving of a part #. Same on the compressor housing. Sometimes a number is engraved right near where the bolts go. Just gotta have the turbo in hand and be able to take it apart, and it may or may not be there :/

If only it was that easy!
On the Garrett site it lists the specs and none of them even come close to the specs i have. One has 1MM difference on wheel sizes (Which could suggest it had been re-ground or something) But then A/R's are completely different and not water and oil cooled?

Head Scratchin
The GT4088R is both water and oil cooled. But yea i agree the wheel sizes vary slightly, may be just a very old non GT series turbo :/

Here's a scan of the Turbo specs from Turbo Dynamics.
