No need to mask the pads providing you have a steady hand. Prep id remove any loose partcles on the caliper with a wire brush or a bit of sandpaper, i may even give them a bit of a wash with some water to get rid of any brake dust particles, then let em dry fully before painting them with a brush. Couple of coats shud do fine, let the paint dry before a new coat is applied. Changing pads shud be fine providing you dont use mega loads of paint in the wrong parts.

Caliper will be bolted to bracket. Undo it and slip the caliper off the disc. Pads are held in by a clip remove it and slip the pad out.

Don't touch the pedal after you've taken the pad out or you'll be in trouble.

This will make it a lot easier to paint and no chance of getting paint on discs or pads. :)

Aah, the black calipers with chrome logo:eyebrows:

I started off with new UK items so you`ll probably have to get the wire brush and sandpaper to yours first. Coated them first with Black Sperex vht spray paint, fixed the chrome supra logo, then a few coats of clear Sperex vht laquer, dried in half an hour:)
