Let us know how they get on with any auto TT Supras.

What kind of dyno are they using?

Cheers,

Brian.

Go to the website ya lazy git :), it's a dyno dynamics roller, now will Dunc keep it in 2nd gear ;).

I'd heard dyno dynamics were OK with autos, but as you say will they test them in the proper 1:1 ratio of 3rd gear and will the torque figures be meaningful??!?

Pretty good day out although bloody freezing. Anyway here's mine from my 1st ever rolling road day experience.:)

67657

67658

I'm happy with the results, running walbro fuel pump, IK22's 3" centre decat with Apexi exhaust system so looks like its up there with a stock uk spec. Apparantly running a touch on the rich side though.
1st decat soon I reckon then I can keep up with you Stevie.;)

Cheers

Just after 12 and nearly missed the BBQ.:d Almost got straight on the RR too. I think i'd left not long before you arrived, had to thaw out.

just back from the rolling road day, dynos the auto supra no problem.takes it to 3rd gear, approx 3 thousand revs and puts the foot down.got a torque reading also.:)

i just got duncan to fit it for me,cost me about 100 for the pipe plus fitting.thats for an ark primary decat.seen you got 335 for your torque, thats pretty good with only 1 cat off.wait till its all done,:):)

What boost Mike? The figure sounds a little on the low side and really what I'd expect to see from a stock J Spec.

Don't bother with Denso Iridium plugs guys, best bet are the NGK BKR7E's gapped to 0.9mm - you can get a set of 6 for a tenner at most motor factors. If you really must fit Iridiums then use NGK Iridiums - BKR7EIX.

Brian.

Hmm, having studied your AFR plot you're at 12:1 at peak power (a touch lean) dropping to 11.3:1 at higher RPM, which is very slightly rich. To me that would suggest a problem like perhaps a dirty fuel filter or dodgy FPR. Out of the factory they run low 10:1 rich. I've mapped mine for 11.7:1 which some people consider on the risky side but I've also carefully adjusted the timing to iron out some det spots you get on a BPU car.

Cheers,

Brian.

Thanks Brian, The car was showing 0.9 bar on my cheapo nasty boost gauge but its only ranged to 1 bar so not that accurate really. I reckon its closer to stock boost.

Interesting what you say about the AFRs, I fitted a new fuel filter beginning of the year so I wouldnt have thought that would be causing bother. I was also told the afrs were erratic on the 1st run so maybe your on to something with the FPR, I've been suspecting the injectors for a wee while now, they are really noisy in the car, each one makes a different noise and my idle has been lumpy with the odd misfire.

It's worth getting a decent, known quality brand boost gauge. I have an ebay special in mine I got to fill a hole in the dash when I bought the car which I only realised over read by about 0.3 bar when I fitted my MAP2 ECU and got the real readings from it's in built 2.5bar MAP sensor which is running my car's fuelling.

RE: your potential fuelling problem, - check all vacumn piping associated with the FPR for any small tears or other damage that could be causing such slight lean running through leakage before swappng out the FPR itself. Also worth checking is the Walbro itself - the little sock filters are prone to blockage. Who installed it - is it sitting properly in the tank with decent reach?

Injectors I'm not so sure especially if they're stock - they are pretty noisy things and tend to be quite audible at idle, ticking away. I don't think I've seen a problem yet where it turned out to be stock injectors themselves that were causing it.

If you have a misfire the first thing to do is swap out the plugs for some colder ones if you're running extra boost. As above I recommend NGK BKR7E's gapped to 0.9mm.

Cheers,

Brian.
