Was going to replace them with j-specs, but garage have advised that as the value of the dollar is so poor, it wouldn't cost an awful lot more to get UK specs from USA. Traders... have PM'd a couple of you but if there's any other traders can get them fairly quickly, can you PM me a price please? Thanks, Babe PS. He supplies everything except the discs (the weight of them makes it uneconomic to ship), just get those from Steve Manley in the UK. Nuts... no-one told me that! Only got about a grand and found out I could UK specs for that so thought I might as well! Toyota sell a refurb kit for the calipers (includes all new seals and other parts), it would probably work out a bit cheaper getting them overhauled. Had the car two years now, been told the last 2 services the discs were on the way out. At last service was told they wouldn't last past xmas. Gotta get em done quick coz they don't feel at all healthy now! Going to get new tyres tomorrow and they do brakes there too so will ask if they think the calipers are shot. Nic Posted November 23, 2007 Share Posted November 23, 2007 If you do the modifications I mentioned in my pm, then you should see a significant improvement in brake bite and pedal feel. ie. Decent pads Braided brake lines Decent brake fluid and perhaps a brace for the master cylinder. Getting your calipers overhauled will get them working as good as new again. If you can view the brakes when they are doing the tyres try and see if the pad (inner and outer ) thicknesses are the same on each caliper.............if not ask them to check..........as if the calipers are sticking/binding then often one pad will have worn more than the other.
