I'm looking for an online game that I could network with my other mates, any popular games out there? ideally looking for something where I can create a room and only my mates can join in?

Cheers

One of the best online games I have played is Eve-Online.com

About 20k people on every night, superb graphics, excellent game play.

It's also great for team play but unless you buy an account ($$$) you have to train up which is a continuous process, and even then some of the big boys would still eat you alive.

Im hooked on Lord Of The Rings Online at the moment. All you friends could join at the same time and build up your characters together.

Im looking for a new MMORPG since quiting WoW earlier on in the year. Should I go for Eve or Lord of the rings?

I started Eve a couple of weeks ago. It's extremely addictive.
There is a two week free trial on it, but I signed up for the full version after a week or so.

Lord Of The Rings is absolutely awesome. Never played WOW (This is my first MMORPG), it can seem a little slow to get going but once you start levelling up it really is quite addictive. Deffinately going to give others a go in the future when/if i get bored of this. Cant comment on which to choose between this or Eve cos not played Eve but LOTRO is quality. Especially if you like the story of the books/films because the storyline to the game kind of follows the books in a way, plus you get to meet all the characters etc etc

I do have CS: Source, used to play it a hell of a lot but not played it for a while. Really should play it again. Will have to put names up to add to friends. Mine is the same as my name on here, original eh?

I'm playing Tibia ( www.tibia.com ) from time to time, used to play a lot, this game have best communication system I ever seen in online games, it's also free :)

Also Warcraft 3 (custom maps) can be very addictive :)

WoW was appauling compared to EVE. I think EVE did very well out of the people leaving WoW. I think it holds the world record for the number of players atm.

We do, but haven't played it in months.

We both got TF2 aswell and yes your right good fun, plays great on Hubbys system but mine is somewhat slower so as soon as I enter a larger firefight I lag right out.

Hubby also plays Fly For Fun, which he has been hooked on for months now.

Ghost Recon 2 - Advanced Warfighter. Realistic (none of this 99 shot kill shite), brilliant graphics, password protection for your own game room, co-op modes, deathmatch modes, everything you need in a FPS.

Failing that, I love C&C3 Tiberian Wars as a RTS online game.

I stay with half life Deathmatch, very addictive too

Does anyone remember Elite?

An online version of this type of game with improved graphics would be good, sadly I dont know of anything like it currently available :(

You have just descibed Eve :) It's Elite on steroids.

I played Elite when it came out on the Spectrum in the early to mid 80's. There is a first payment of £12 then it's around £8 per month.

My hubby has it and was hooked on it for sometime. I prefered playing BF2 myself and never bought 2142.

He doesn't play it now tho.

bf2142 is amazing however if your not in a clan or playing with friends and able to speak to each other the game is not all that, its a team players game , you need to be able to chat to one another to get the most out of it, all in all its great once you get the hang of it.

for any one who hasnt played it, basicly the aim of the game is to take over the missile silo's, defen or attack the other titan, i love the titan part the best, basicly you have to take over missile siloes in order to destroy the enemys shiled on there titan ( similer to them 3 massive enmey ships out of star wars) once the shileds are down you must board there ship, go down 4 corridors and destroy for computer consoles, once all for consoles are destroyed you have to go in and destroy the ships core, once its destroyed you just have enought time to make a run for it and jump off the ship befor it blows.

Step into the fold, Wez :) You don't need to buy an account on Eve, new people are still catered for, just don't expect to waltz into 0.0 space on day one ;)

I know of an account that is mothballed if anyone wants to make an offer, I think about 20mil skill points and a fair few quid in cash and stuff.
