I just called Egg to check on whether the correct amount had been billed for the TV I ordered today (I got mailed the wrong invoice).

Unfortunately - they have started using a voice recognition system to ask for your details. And the emphasis is not on the word "recognition". After 10 minutes of "I'm sorry, I'm a f*****g crap recognition system and can't understand a word you're saying" it finally put me through to an operator.

She was very helpful, and confirmed that the correct amount had been billed. She also told me that the new system was "to make things faster for me". Well, it's failing.

I am now changing credit cards. I really can't be bothered with that if I need to call them.

LOL - what utter crap. There is no reason for introducing a voice recognition telephone service apart from saving money for THEM. :sos:

OR making money for the telephone company that they will probably get a cut of the profits!

I have wondered before that organisations seem to deliberately waste a lot of their customers time on the phone!!

Conspiracy theory overload!!:taped:

I found the Egg system very easy to deal with. However I changed from Egg because of the shocking APR it always went up every couple of months.

I am thinking about getting a Tesco one. My mate always fills his cars up there and at the end of the year he gets a couple of hundred quid in reward points and does his Chritmas shopping with it......:eyebrows:

I always said I wouldn't have another credit card though!
