Ok, always fitted stereo's myself without too much of a problem.
Just bought an Alpine IVA-W202R. Anyone fitted one? Wat do you do about the park brake wire? There are tons of wires on this thing too and its got me a bit stumped. Anyone living round my area fitted one? Dont think I'd like to attempt this myself.
You should fit the brake wire to stop the screen being visible during driving (of course not everyone does *grin*)
It shouldn't be too difficult to install, get yourself an iso cable from halfords to suit, someone on here should know the code. If you get stuck give me a shout, I'm just up the road.
I am not 100% here but from my knowlage is that the wire is used to prevent you from watching DVD's while on the move, so the best thing to do is to earth the wire to the hand break and it will work while on the move, summit like that any way.

You are indeed correct, legally it needs to be conencted to the handbrake for that purpose. For the purposes of 'demo' it can be earthed so that the passenger can 'view' the screen :)
fitted one early this year. I connected the parking brake wire (yellow?) to the hand brake switch under the center console (at the back of the hand brake). its straight forward once you see the switch ;)
So if I just connect the wire to earth, I can view the screen any time. Not that I would of course, what with it being illegal.
Yup, just earth the handbrake wire. I've fitted quite a few all in one screens and thats all i have ever done.
Is it actually illegal to have a screen on when driving? Just curious where satnav etc falls here. I have a double din headunit in at the moment which is almost all screen. Even when the radio is on the screen has information and is illuminated.
I didn't think it was illegal at all. I just thought it was safer to have it hooked up to the handbrake.
