Nic
15-11-07, 12:21
Group buy for the brand new HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve Kit, if I can get a minimum of 10 orders, I can do a special discounted price of £165 including postage to UK.

The kit is specifically for the Supra and includes everything required to replace the stock blow off valve.

This pic shows just the BOV and not the complete kit, if anyone has one of these fitted would you be able to post a photo please?

I've got one on my single and REALLY didn't want to after having an older SSQV but the new one really is an improvement. I'm actually surprised how much I like it :)

Not IMHO. It used to sound like a canary on coke but now sounds almost mechanical. A good "blow-off" sound in a high-tech sorta way. I'd record a video if my idle control valve wasn't fooked.

can we pick what colour fin it comes with or is it a default one?

Rayman
20-11-07, 21:02
Ive just fitted one of these, it has standard fin in at the moment and makes quite a high pitch sound when you back off the throttle, in my case anyway as i have an auto. It certainly turns heads and i found it louder than i thought when you back off from full WOT. Just giving it half throttle its not as loud and sounds good. Would be even better on a 6sp as you get the sound when changing gear too.
Ive not got around to fitting the other purple fin yet but will this weekend and let you know what it sounds like in comparison, its supposed to sound more lower pitched than the stock fin, also will get a picture of it fitted.
They are a quality piece of kit and fit very well indeed! I also find the turbo spools up quicker now, well from what i can see looking at my boost guage anyway.

Correct the Supra kit doesn't include the attachment so it can be recirculated. I'd need to check availability/cost of these if anyone needs.

So have we got a definite 10 members in now? If so I will start collecting money.

If you would like to order, my pay pal account is the same as the email address in my sig below, I will need you to add 4% (£6.60) to the total to cover the pay pal transfer fee. ie. total transfer amount of £171.60

If you make the transfer, please can you include a note of your forum user name and parts ordered for my reference.

If you would prefer to pay by bank transfer, please can you pm me for details.

cheers

Nic

If all paid for do you think there might be about for b4 xmas?

It'll most likely be after Christmas now, order time would be 4-5 weeks, plus 5-7 days postage to UK.

If anyone wants theirs quicker, I could get the kit airmailed to me in around 1 week, but would need an extra £24 to cover for the additional postage costs.

Nic, was wondering if that re-circulation option/insert for this BOV can sort out the problems UK autos seem to suffer as it would mimic the operation of a stock BOV?

Thanks Guys for your commitment, it's disappointing others have decided to pull.

What I'll do is go ahead with the orders as I get the money in, if we get 10 orders great, if not then I'll take the hit on the cost price.

So all those that are still in please make transfers and I'll place your orders as and when money is received.

I have looked into the alternative sources and yes it looks like a a few quid can be saved. Perhaps those who have sourced elsewhere could be honest enough to post up the actual total cost when they receive the goods at the front door.

Nic has a very good rep among club members and perhaps the few extra £'s is worth it for Nics continued commitment to the club. Just do a quick search you will find his input into tech and other threads is huge. I am sure that is what the club needs; people who can make a contribution not just take our money.

In the end everyone has the right to make their own choice as to whom they handout their hard earned.......

Sorry to hijack the thread Nic.

The actual fin (the cross piece at the front) is chrome as standard, but the valve behind it is purple, which reflects off it.

anyone knows what the difference it between the new SQV and the ols SSQV BOV?

Just looks?

Will the new one hold the boost above 2 bar, or leak like the old one???

Scotster
31-12-07, 13:13
Neither of them should leak. They are both push pull are they not?

Differences are the looks, the old one is adjustable i don't think the new one is and the sound is much better on the new one.

I think thats about it really.

Yes, seems not. :(
I like the fact that they open on low boost, too.

But two of them will not handle more boost ;)
