I use the meguiars 3 step stuff, its great you get a paint cleaner, polish & wax and a VERY achy arm but worth it and its not too expensive either all 3 for around £25

nitromors is great!!!!!!!

also good at taking skin off as well as swirls :D

seriously though are you using a machine or hand polish, lots of different specialists use different polishes.

I have heard the poorboys range is good, Peter Richards can give you some good tips he has done me proud in the past

this is interesting too (although only a small range are tested)

I know your being funny guys but some people do take what others say and use their advice :(

Polishes and wax are a personal preference and there are a hug no to chosse from.

Some people use the meguiars range and seem to get good results.

I like the Klass all in one followed by klasse sealany glaze followed by p21 s wax.

The important thing is to use microfibre cloths and use the 2 bucket method for washing the car.

For the wheels do't get one of those acid based cleaners like wonder wheels ! sonus wheel cleaner is good and wont harm your alloys.

I used to use the turtlewax tub stuff on mine but it dried solid and was really hard to get off so I switched to Maguires, really easy to clear off afterwords and leaves virtually no chalky white residue when dry. The process and cloths really are the key to getting it looking good. Tesco do some really good microfiber cloths at a tenth of the price of the prof ones, they're great for applying polish etc.

  1. Wash the car with Maguires gold class shampoo - starting at the top and working down to the wheels and arches.

  2. Get a clean bucket of water with no shampoo and go over the car top to bottom again with a AutoGlym synthetic chamois - taking all the water off the car - just keep ringing the chamois and rinsing it in the clean water.

  3. Apply the polish (I use Maguires crystal) using a microfiber cloth, circular motion seems to give the best finish. rub the polish into the paintwork until it's been absorbed

  4. apply your wax (I use Maguires Gold Class) again small circular motions seem to give the best results.

  5. Once the whole car's been done take the wax off with another microfiber cloth.

  6. Give it a good rub down with a clean microfiber cloth to shine it up nicely

  7. I then use a rabbits fur mit to put a really nice shine on for shows etc.
