Have you considered the more common option of a speed convertor rather than changing the dials?

I want a speed converter, but only to work on the speedo and not the odometer. Which one should I use? Currently got MPH dial that only goes to 110mph. I've bought some of these polished steel ones but need the converter first.

You could modify the wiring to get round that, split the feed from the convertor (some have both km/h and mph outputs) and feed the km/h output to the odo...

Is it easy to do gav? i know you mention what to do, but do they stand out?!
