Is it going to be enthusiasts only?

Reason i ask is i have never done a trackday and if i went i would be very cautious. I don't want some knob jockey in a turbo nova cutting me up at every opportunity.

It would be nice if i could have some space to see what the I/the car could do without worrying about other nitwits.

when i went to crail everyone had a bit respect for there cars and diddnt push too hard
im the same with my car but adam runs the event pretty well and lays out the rulles before you get on the track
as previousley said adam is a good guy he will see you rite;)

Its hard to persuade myself though. It feels as if i will be the only inexperienced person there and i will be getting in everyones way if you see what i mean.

Just noticed you need to wear a helmet. Anyone got one? I'm 6'4 and long bodied so i dunno if i would fit comfortably lol.

I've never done a track day either! I'm sure there'll be a few folk in the same boat.

there is mate
the thing is the novices tend to keep out the way
just watch for the flash in the mirrors and try to stay off the racing line and use youre indicators to let people know what side of the track you are going slow down on
dont worry you will never get experiance if you dont go

come on guys lets make the scot's forum rock:)

Novices are more than welcome. And you wont be the only ones either.

There is normally a wide spread of cars and driver talent out there, but everyone has the same aim. Have fun and stay safe.

The way we/Knockhill will run it is no over taking unless on the straight (and left side only). The normal procedure is for the slower car to pull over indicating and easying off a touch. Strictly no over taking or diving up the inside on corners.
The event will be fully marshalled, with flags in operation. So any dangerous driving will be black flagged and dealt with. Blue flags to alert slwer cars of faster cars etc.

We'll also hace ARDS intructors there if the numbers are enough. Well worth it!!

If you have any further questions please see the forum http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/index.php or just drop me an email adam@trackscotland.co.uk

Cars - I'm not limiting cars (make/brand) but they do have to be MOT'd. There is normally a mixed bunch on track.

Have a look at some of these video's http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/media.htm

these will give you an idea on the passing etc

Anyone fancy going along for a look - make a club outing of it.

I've been around the Knockhill track a few times in my soop - all great fun. And the events always seem to be well marshalled. Everyone is in the same boat (sort of speak) want to have good fun and test their car -but dont want to risk damaging it.

Us watching could always encourage / laugh at the other club members who wish to participate.

Cheers
Ian

Not so bad, Nige
havent seen you on here for a while. have you been lying low?

dont think I'll be going around the track either, but wouldnt mind going up to watch. Would be good if we could get a few members along and maybe go for some grub after the event

hope to see you at some events/shows during the year.
Is Brian still the Events Organiser for Scotland? It would be quite good to have a club appearance at Chatlerhaut this year, as its usually a very good event

Cheers

Thought i was the only one!!!
Was a bit nervous about mentioning fear of 'getting in the way' but it seems others are in the same boat.
Have been on bike track days, but not sure i would want to risk pride and joy on track??!!
Definitely want to go to meet though :D
Will get definite confirmation asap.
Thanks
