hi all just replaced head unit and front and rear speakers in car all rated for the same power kenwood head unit problem is sound quality is reall bad whats wrong

Is it crackly or muffled?

Sounds like your connections are not brilliant.

If you still have the OEM amplifier fitted under the passenger seat then this will be the cause.

no amplifier under seat

15 year old speakers, dont forget they are only paper, probably blown to smithers

Could be that the speakers are low sensitivity e.g. 88db and the head unit is killing its self to drive them?
Otherwise badly installed speakers sounds likely.

Try and decribe the problem with a little more detail, e.g. the volume scale "it starts at 10 on a 30 scale" , or "there is no bass" etc

What does the low sensitivity mean? Does it just mean that it would take a lot of power from the head unit to "drive" them properly? I just had a look at what mine are - 90db. Is this low or high?
