View Full Version : Rolling Road Session in the new year ?
Right then guys,
I have been talking with Dyno Demon in Neston Wirral in Cheshire, with regard to organising a dyno day for us.
They have offered us some very favourable prices if we can get more than 10 cars on the rollers. If we can get 20 cars on the rollers then it's cheaper still and they'll lay on some refreshments.
On each power run we will get BHP, Torque, AFR and Boost readouts. AFR will me monitored carefully throughout the power run to ensure that the vehicle is not running lean, if it is felt the car is excessively on the lean side the power run will be aborted.
The dyno cell is mounted at ground level and there should be no issues with clearance for low cars.
At the moment there are slots available throughout January, so for the moment I just want to know what kind of interest we have.
I've spoken to a few of you directly and I know there is some interest, and given the location I'm hoping that we might get some interest from Wales and the Midlands.

Its quite alot more of a trek but may be worth having a chat with Andy at Miami GT, we went over for the yorkshire meet and they should have their rolling road in for Jan. The space they have is impressive.

Definitely interested in this! Should be okay timewise, as long as my cams, manifold, pulleys etc have been fitted in time!!!
Absolutely intrested in this. I remember you mentioning this a couple of months ago. Cheshire is just round the courner so I'll definately be there. It'll be nice to see what changes, if any have occured in the last year since I last had my little NA dyno'd.

I heard back from the dyno operators, and the guy I was dealing with has moved on, so am awaiting confirmation that our previous discussions are still going to be honoured. I'll let you guys know the situation when I hear more.

Would it be worth check somewhere else out as a back up or even dare i say it Hyper? :)
Mike Ward suggested Miami GT as an alternative. so could be an option, there would then be potential to attract some of the Yorkshire members into a joint Rolling Road session.
I'm open to suggestions, at the end of the day it's up to the members, the main reason we considered dyno demon was that they approached us. I have no real opinion.
We had a good session at Hyper, my only concern is the elevated rolling road, and lowered vehicles.

I would have a chat with Andy and see what he says. Im sure he would be very reasonable and it leads for a good day out. We also have somewhere to get something to eat on the way home ;)
Would need to check with Andy on the clearance for lowered cars but they have the space to have a long enough ramp.

Its a good run out Adam, could be a long day for you but it would be worth it. St and Lynz can vouch for the pub on the way back.

Okay bringing this thread back on topic:
I've been back in touch with the dyno, and we currently have 2 dates in February which are unavailable. I propose that we try for the 23rd February.
I appreciate that people may now not be available (Matt_H, david.whiteside) but can anyone who is still interested in this event on February 23rd re sign up. I feel that if we can't achieve 10 runners then we'll have to put this on hold. for this particular venue and consider another with more overlap in a different location.

i never got the nitrous installed so i've no new spec & Miami GT did my last run so it seems a bit pointless really

Spread those legs mate! come along, always nice to see your car pulling hard on the RR. ANd with supras, no one is ever really dissappointed with the results. Last time we went on a RR day, i think everyone walked away happy with the results, most people got more than they expected ;0
Right the plan is to arrive at Ferrybridge services at 9:15 in order to get to Miami_GT for 10:30 (should be departing Ferrybridge at about 9:45)
If anyone is planning on coming to the first session (this coming Saturday - 23rd) let me know.
I'll be setting off at about 7:45 from mine. But can meet at one of the services on the M62 if needed.
