N on an Auto

It's weird because I never use neutral except when I'm in traffic lights and even then I don't always but when I was in someone elses supra they were constantly in neutral like when approaching lights/roundabout etc. Does it make a difference?

I understand that coasting in Neutral on the autobox is a very bad thing (from what I've read on here) Something to do with the Autobox oil pump not operating when out of gear.

Hopefully Alex or someone technically reliable will be able to confirm this.

Some owners may also find like myself that if you join an A road while the car still idling high (on choke as it were). When you do finally begin to stop from traffic, even after 45 mins, the car will still idle high and takes a good minute of being stationary to reduce to warm idle (which doesn't happen much in tailbacks). Sticking it in Neutral when you stop reduces this time to about 5-10 secs.

But that's about the only use i've ever found for using neutral during a journey.
