Plans for My Supra this Winter - Update

Ive spent alot of time moidering certain people (Mawby) over the last feew weeks. Ive broken down my work into 4 stages.

 

Stage ONE is clean out and clean up:

Replacing all the fluids - and have got the following ready at home to go in,

 

5w40 - Silkolene Pro S Engine Oil

DOT 5.1 - Motul RBF600 Break Fluid

DOT 5.1 - Motul RBF600 Clutch Fluid

Toyota 4Life Red – Coolant

V160 Gear Box Oil

Silkolene Syn5 75w-90 LSD Fluid

Motul Dexton III Power Steering Fluid

 

Next its on with Major Service Items: have the following ready to go:

 

NGK Iridium Plugs

Toyota Genuine Oil Filter

Toyota Cambelt

Toyota Drive/Auxiliary Belt

Greddy S/S Radiator Top Hose

Cam Cover Breather Hose

 

Next its on with bling: Have these at home wating to go on:

 

S/S Battery Cover

Re-spray spark plug cover – Samco Blue

TRD Oil Cap

Aluminium Machined Power Steering Cap – With Logo

Aluminium Machined Break Fluid Cap – With Logo

S/S Bolts - Spark Plug Cover

S/S Polished Radiator Cover

Cusco Front Strut Brace

S/S Bolts - Radiator/Battery/Headlight

New S/S Strut Nuts - Toyota

2 x Supra Etched Decals

RS Blue Calliper Paint

Side Skirt/Wheel Arch Attachment – Screws and Washers

Retrim Seats - cream Leaterette with blue stiching and logos

S/S Bolts – Wing Attachment

 

Parts I have left to sort are:

Polished S/S Fan Shroud

Chrome Battery Clamp

Chrome Radiator Mounts

New front bumper - Bomex

Fuel filter – Toyota Direct

New 100mm FMIC with hard pipes

Polished S/S Dipstick with SUPRA logo – MVP

Clear indicators and side repeaters

Headlight Referb

OEM Rear Spats (replacing mine as i have mixed oem and vs)

 

 

 

 

Next will be stage TWO: BPU

I already have a full decat, and Apexi uprated exhaust system.

 

I will be sorting a fuel cut defender, and boost control, along with winding up the turbo boost a little, not to much as im not gready :) hehe.

 

 

 

 

Stage THREE will be internal:

Already have my seats on order, which should be here any time soon.

 

Will be fitting her out with full greddy gauge set: im thinking all to be in pilar pods.

 

Oil Temp

Oil Pressure

Boost

Voltage

Water Temp

 

Also will be fitting a decent size rev counter central on the dash.

 

 

 

Stage FOUR will probably be:

2 x Hybird Turbos? to replace the stock ones? need to look into this in more detail, but thats the idea. Not keen on going single as its been done far to many times. I would prefer 2 Hybirds, or equivelant.

 

Also will be upgrading the clutch and fly wheel at this point - Although I may well bye these parts before hand ans keep them in storage untill this stage.

 

Hoping stage one will be compleated by March 2008.

 

And stage 2 by September 2008.

 

Will begin stage 3 and 4 whenevr funds allow me to :)

Took her for her first sesion in the garage today :)

Changed the brake lines for some new goodridge braided steel ones

Power bled the system and then replaced the brake fluid with my new Motul Dot 5.1

What a bloodey diffrence it makes!!!!!!

Was back in the garage again today working on her.

Changed the LSD oil - and got my self a new oil transfer pump! (thanks dad)

 

Never new the gear box oil stank so much- its rank!

 

Took the drain nut off and out she spilled:

Cleaned off the drain plug (lots of bits of crap stuck to it) Never knew it was magnetic and caught all the bits of crap floating about in there:

All in all a good weekend :)

How handy it must be to have your own pit. Wish I had one like that, want to waxoyl the underneath before winter sets in.

 

Nice car you got. :eyebrows:

 

Its not mine personally, but i know the owner and am alowed to use it to do the things i need.

 

I know for shure that id struggel to hell without it :(

It is bad aint it!!! i was stinking for days after doing the clutch on a GT4

 

Whats worse is i was lay flat on my back - i was doing the diff!

I was using the pump ok untill it got full, i thaught there was just some air in it so i proper yanked the handle down - it spat all over me, running down my arm into my sleeve - almost got to my pit before i moved :(

 

will wear gloves and overalls next time :(

 

still cant shift the stink on my hands either :(

LEt me know on those parts you were talking about at first.

 

I can help you with the Chroming and we have a new battery tray that has the option of being Chromed or Polished. As for the Rad Brackets I can get new OEM's Chromed if needed. Let me know and I will try to help.

Well i did alot of work on her this weekend and im absolotely chuffed with the result!

Sat morning I changed:

 

Gear Box Oil for some OEM V160 Oil

OEM Oil Filter

OEM Fuel Filter

Silkoline Pro S Engine Oil 5W 40

Dot 5.1 Clutch fluid

 

The Gear change is now amazing, and the clutch feels so much softer and free flowing. There is no more sticky and sluggish gear changes, and its not because the car got warm as it only drove less than 1 mile from my house to the garage and back.

 

The oil that came out was black :( realy black, and it had some sort of aftermarket oil filter on it. I replaced it with a Toyota OEM one. They are a pain in the but to remove. I then filled her up with my silkoline pro s oil.

 

The fuel what was in the origional filter ran out like a wee colour. A light yellow shade. We think that this was the ORIGIONAL fuel filter from whren the car was new.

 

The gear box oil that came out was green in colour. Not shure why but the new v160 oil that went in was red. Was the easiest job out of them all as I used a transfer pump that can take 0.6 Leters a time. Filled it up untill it started seeping back out of the 'fill' hole.

 

Instead of doing the old fashioned way of draining the clutch fluid, we opened the nipple valve on the gear box and shoved in the power bleeder. It drained the fluid in no time at all and i kept on topping up the resovoir bottel. Once the ''clean'' stuff was coming into the catch tank on the bleeder we stopped as we were happy the new dot 5.1 stuff had come through. Closed the nipple and that was it - Job done.

 

Took her for a 2 mile test run and am absolutely chuffed with the results.

My little box of suprises arrived last weekend from colsppo - absolutly amazed with the items and quality of them!

 

Im going to leave the items as a final toutch to my winter works. but ill be going for round 2 (more things) in the new year.

Is that the fuel filter in the first pic? easy to change?

 

The fuel filter is in the last piccy down. and yes it was easy to change. You just need a spanner - size 8 i think, could be a 10mm and a drip tray to catch the leaking fuel.

 

but remember to switch your engition off!! all you have to do is undo the fuel lines going in and out of it and a few bolts mounting it onto a bracket.

 

10 mins work max (if you have a pit) but could be more orcwad if using ramps or a jack ect.
