pa06has
Im just lookin for a supra now, but having probs to find the right one. Is there a age of the car (miles) in which its a risk ie, to much things could go wrong? i know its a toyota but because of the age, do i need to stick to a certain about of miles? Also cin a car which has got a hybrid turbo (stage 3), what differences does this have to normal tt, the owner suggests that it could run upto 2bar and produce 450bhp. any suggestions
heckler
450 with supporting mods - yeah. 2 bar, not a chance, my hybrids are good for 1.5bar, but i dont run them at 1.5, i stay at 1.3.
Bob
And by supporting mods, think ecu, cams, intercooler, etc.
pa06has
dusnt mention any other mods! i thought that running to high is a risk of buggering up your turbo! so would that suggest hes been driving like that?! - he must of tried it to know it runs at 2bar! I'm not aware of ANY hybrid turbo capable of 2 bar! Not sure if the engine would cope with 2bar either unless its been built to take it. Bob
Are you sure he didn't mumble a "one point" in front of the "two"? 'cos 2bar on a stock engine with hybrids; well you've got two hopes - Bob Hope and No Hope, and Bob Hope's dead. I'd also be concerned if he's running high boost on these without anything to check the fueling. No uprated injectors, fuel trimming device (e.g. SAFC, picyback ecu like E-manage, etc.)? And its turbos btw, the Supra as standard has two of 'em :edit: I reckon the seller is talking out of his rectal passage. Does he have any proof that the turbos are hybrids? AndyT
Stay away bud. Some lovely cars in "Supra Classifieds" here and at least you'll know everything about the car.

Suprash
Does he have any monitoring for the boost, ie boost gauge, that would tell you exactly what their running at, and if he doesnt and is running higher then normal boost, then I again as others have said walk away, cause its not a good idea to raise your boost and not monitor it, it could be getting boost spikes and he wouldnt be aware..... But cannot run at that on a Supra due to the sequential set up and fueling issues...
