what bar are you running mate?

Zero, I sold my nightmare. However when I was BPU I only saw 0.9 bar and that was with a 1.2bar restrictor ring in place It depends on the car tbh, just because you take out the cats and add a restrictor ring it does mean you are alwaus going to hit 1.2 bar.

Turbo's condition dependent of course you won't actually see much power increase from 1.2 to 1.2 bar. In fact you may actually start to lose some power with older turbo's as you start to force them to work outside their efficiency range. Basically the further out of the turbo's efficiency range you get the more heat is generated. This heat is what kills things. My last car put down its best power at 1.15 bar. Power tailed off after that. The 1.2 bar figure is just a generalisation and won't be correct for all cars. Yeah the turbo's may be safe at that pressure but that doesn't mean they are optimimum at that pressure. If you really want to go for it get a boost controller and set it up on a dyno properly.

I'd second that, I'm going to change my 1.2 for a 1.0 ring as when cold I've seen it boost up to 1.3, which may have been the cause of my blow out.

Not worth it boosting to those levels when you don't want it to, trust me.
