My mum's looking to sell her Jaguar XJ. I said I'd have a look around to get some idea of the price.

It's in mint condition and I mean mint. The interior is spotless. It has a full Jag service history, 77k on the clock. Less than 10k in the last five years.

I was shocked to find that it's probably only worth between £2500 to £5000!

Blimey!

Probably because they're unreliable bags of shite which are expensive to fix and have poor Jaguar after sales service.

Shame as I love the badge, designs and whole British appeal.

I had one of the early 3.0 SE X-Types, and the auto mated to the 4x4 had serious issues early on - I had no end of problems. But that said, their warranty was second to none, never an arguement just booked it in and replaced everything faulty.

I really liked that car, made a change from all the BMW 330s littered across the country.

I can only comment on Shrewsbury and Wolves garages and experience of an XKR with Jag extended warranty.
Parts on order, didn't turn up.
Arguments on warranty cover every time.
Workmanship poor and repeatedly back in to fix.
etc. etc.

Have to agree on workmanship, mine was with Gatwick Jaguar and they were hopeless !
