i all would i need to replace my master cylinder (to a uk-spec) i have a j-spec tt which i have just put on uk-spec brakes (full set-up)

You don't have to replace the master cylinder, but it would be a good idea to, to get the best out of them. A new one would be around £155 delivered from here.

Get someone to press the brake pedal whilst the car is idling and see if there is much movement of the master cylinder. I've found on some cars that have been upgraded to the larger brakes, that there can be quite a bit of flex. A brace such as these would help if there is.
