juanchan
I believe you'd need a boost controller not a restrictor ring in a UK car
wilkorangerover
restrictor ring is ok!
juanchan
I thought a decatted UK wouldn't overboost? Hence the reason for the boost controller, not a restrictor ring?
michael
You don't need a restrictor ring at all and you only need a boost controller if you want to increase the boost.
p3te
so a standard uk spec with a full decat and exhaust would run fine no need for anything else?, im not planning on increasing the boost or anything
juanchan
From what I've learnt on here, yes. I'd wait for someone in the know to confirm that though

p3te
I did hit fuel cut when i decatted. what was your spec?, du think theres less chance of this happening wihy my car being standard or does it not really matter?
Guigsy
my new one is uk and bpu, no boost controller and boosts to 1 bar, 392 bhp
Jamesy
if you get a fcd surely you wont get the fuel cut?
bignum
No it was totally stock when the decatts went on, after feeling the extra grunt i went bpu.
SBDJ
My decatted UK has had problems controlling the boost since I fitted my HKS Silent Hi-Power exhaust. I had to use a restrictor ring to stop it hitting fuel cut. As for the FCD stopping fuel cut, well yes (unless the one you are using raises it), but I'd rather have fuel cut than crazy boost any day of the week... juanchan
my new one is uk and bpu, no boost controller and boosts to 1 bar, 392 bhp That seems quite high for only 1 bar of boost. I thought full BPU at 1.2 bar usually saw people getting 360-380bhp?
