As you all know, my Supra is up for sale at the minute. It's been given a fine going over via Michel Lane, the only issues left are a couple of cosmetic ones - a slight mark on the rear offside quarter which will polish out, and the wheels. The left rear is in need of a refurb from where it was left outside by a garage for a few weeks last year, there was water on the AME aluminium and it corroded. The others are pretty much ok with just very minor pitting. At the minute, there's not enough time to send them all off for a refurb as the car needs to be moveable etc. When I get it back, it's my only method of transport until I get a runabout and a Cerbera.

Question I have is, would wheels in need of a refurb put people off? I love the AMEs and think they really suit the car, pics below. I know a bloke who gives me mates rates and could sort a refurb out easily for a buyer, but again this would be after the car had been sold so I could collect my new ones. I am considering taking the AMEs off and adding some brand new Ultralite 755s in black with Goodyear F1s on. I was considering this anyway as I think the wheels look really good and would also suit the car.

Which would you prefer as a potential buyer - the AMEs which would need a refurb (which I would sort out after sale without adding to the £18k price on the car) OR the brand new Ultralites in black. I've added a poll for this. The car will have Goodyear F1s added regardless before sale. If the Ultralites are added, the AMEs will be refurbed and then sold seperately :)

N.B. Before any of the usual arses on here pipe up again, all transport of these would be arranged through me with insurance and people would be reminded to sign for things when receiving!)

The blue edge is just the protective film over these!

Price differance is minor TBH, the rear AME is very bad but it just needs good polish, doesn't look too pretty at the minute. I started polishing it myself but gave up as it was taking far too long etc. Instead of price differances, it's more a case of what would help it sell more. The price stays at £18k regardless :)

I'd first find the guy with £18K to spend on a MKIV and then ask him what wheels and tyres he wants, and buy whatever the hell he comes out with, before he is taken off by men in white coats :) I hope you prove me wrong, but 18K is a lot of money for any MKIV.

Thank god someone said it!
